Svenska superhundraåringar

Abstract

Sveriges folkbokföringssystem är ett av de mest avancerade och omfattande i världen, med en historia som sträcker sig över flera århundraden. Detta system gör det möjligt att verifiera åldersanspråken på i princip alla inrikes födda invånare under de senaste tre århundradena, något som är av särskild vikt när man studerar våra allra äldsta.

I denna studie kunde 28 personer av nordisk härkomst verifieras ha uppnått en ålder av 110 år eller mer i Sverige fram till år 2022. Verifieringen gjordes genom att använda det svenska folkbokföringssystemet och offentligt tillgängliga släktforskningsresurser.

Sweden's population registration system is among the most advanced and comprehensive in the world, with a history spanning several centuries. This system facilitates verification of age claims of all native-born inhabitants during the past three centuries, something that is of importance when studying the oldest old.

In this study, I could verify 28 persons of Nordic de­scent that reached the age of 110 years in Sweden untill the year of 2022. Verification was achieved by utilizing the Swedish population registration system and publicly available genealogy resources.
